A-Mart All Sports

A-Mart All Sports commenced trading in 1976 with the opening of the first store at Underwood in Brisbane.

A-Mart All Sports grew steadily under the private ownership of Queensland entrepreneurs Bruce Batchelor and Norris Coughlan. One of the original partners was John Van Lieshout who owned and ran the huge A-Mart Furniture chain and became Queensland's first billionaire when he sold the furniture chain to a private equity company a couple of years ago.

A-Mart All Sports was also sold to private equity in 2004 as Queensland’s dominant sporting goods retailer with 25 stores across Queensland, Darwin and regional NSW.
